Found objects, items saved from the past, bits of detritus from the world around me, I enjoy taking on the challenge of giving them a new purpose. I've learned to keep my eyes and mind open to discovering alternative uses for things that might otherwise have been discarded.

This project began on a bicycle ride. Seeing many beer cans along the road I wondered why people toss them out the window instead of recycling them. I began collecting any cans I found over a dozen rides, 200 in all. This work is a way to shine a light on littering in America. Made from laser cut Beech hardwood, 52 found aluminum cans, scrap plywood, scrap metal.

These photos were taken while on bicycle rides in Boulder County, collecting discarded beer cans from the side of the road. The sign was posted by a resident along the road to Rabbit Mountain Open Space.

Made from laser cut plywood, 45 found aluminum cans, scrap plywood, scrap hardwood, india ink, photographs. This work shows the attempts by Coors brewery to get people to recycle their cans. All cans were found while on bicycle rides in Boulder County.
